Beach cloth was invented in the early 1900's as a way to combat the harsh New England winter. Traditionally made of densely woven wool, this fabric can itch and is too warm for most climates. Hiroshi Kato used a lighter Japanese beach cloth made of 100% cotton for a softer and more comfortable garment. The Shirt has two hand warmer pockets and two chest patch pockets.
